Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our LHDN e-Invoice middleware for Malaysian businesses
General & Compliance
Is this middleware compliant with LHDN MyInvois requirements?
Yes, this middleware is built based on LHDN MyInvois API documentation and is designed to support Malaysia e-Invoice submission workflows. It handles invoice formatting, API authentication, and submission according to LHDN specifications. However, this product is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by LHDN.
What is the difference between this middleware and custom e-Invoice solutions?
This is a standard, ready-to-use product designed for fast deployment and predictable costs. It's suitable for most SMEs with common integration needs. Custom solutions are built from scratch for businesses with highly specialized workflows, non-standard data structures, or complex enterprise integrations. The middleware can be deployed in days, while custom solutions typically take months.
Do I still need this middleware if my POS/ERP vendor adds LHDN integration?
It depends. If your vendor provides native LHDN MyInvois integration that meets your needs, you may not need additional middleware. However, many overseas POS/ERP systems don't plan to add Malaysia-specific features, or their implementation timeline is uncertain. This middleware provides an immediate, reliable solution.
Can this middleware handle consolidated invoices and credit notes?
Yes, the middleware supports invoices, consolidated invoices, credit notes, and debit notes according to LHDN MyInvois specifications. It handles all standard document types required for e-Invoice compliance.
Integration & Technical
What integration methods does the middleware support?
The middleware supports three integration methods: (1) API Integration - direct REST API calls from your system, (2) CSV Upload - manual or automated file upload via web interface, and (3) FTP/SFTP - automated file transfer for batch processing. You can use one or multiple methods based on your needs.
Does my POS or ERP system need to be online for this to work?
Not necessarily. For API integration, yes, your system needs internet connectivity. However, for CSV or FTP/SFTP methods, you can export data from offline systems and upload it when convenient. The middleware handles the LHDN submission independently.
What data format does the middleware accept?
The middleware accepts data in JSON format via API, and CSV format for file uploads. We provide detailed documentation on required fields and data structure. The middleware validates and transforms your data to meet LHDN MyInvois specifications.
Can I integrate multiple POS or ERP systems with one middleware instance?
Yes, you can integrate multiple source systems with a single middleware deployment. Each system can use different integration methods if needed. This is common for businesses with multiple branches or different operational systems.
What happens if LHDN MyInvois API changes?
We monitor LHDN MyInvois API updates and release middleware updates as needed. Subscription customers receive updates automatically. One-time license customers with active maintenance agreements also receive updates. We aim to provide updates before LHDN enforces breaking changes.
Deployment & Infrastructure
Where is the middleware hosted?
You have options: (1) Cloud-hosted by us - we manage the infrastructure, updates, and monitoring, or (2) Self-hosted on your own servers or cloud account - you have full control and data stays in your infrastructure. Both options are available for subscription and one-time license models.
How long does deployment take?
For cloud-hosted deployments, setup typically takes 1-3 business days after account creation and configuration. For self-hosted deployments, it depends on your infrastructure readiness, but typically 3-7 days including installation, configuration, and testing.
What are the server requirements for self-hosted deployment?
Minimum requirements: 2 CPU cores, 4GB RAM, 20GB storage, Linux or Windows Server, and stable internet connection. Recommended: 4 CPU cores, 8GB RAM, 50GB SSD storage. Specific requirements depend on your transaction volume.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption. For cloud-hosted deployments, data is stored in encrypted databases with regular backups. For self-hosted deployments, you control the security infrastructure. We follow industry-standard security practices and can provide detailed security documentation.
Pricing & Licensing
What's the difference between subscription and one-time license?
Subscription includes ongoing updates, support, and cloud hosting (if chosen) for a monthly or annual fee. One-time license is a perpetual license with optional annual maintenance for updates and support. Subscription is better for businesses wanting predictable costs and managed service. One-time license suits businesses preferring to own the software outright.
Are there transaction limits or volume-based pricing?
Currently, we offer a single plan with no hard transaction limits, subject to fair usage policy. This means most businesses can operate without worrying about hitting volume caps. However, we reserve the right to introduce tiered pricing based on transaction volume in the future to ensure sustainable service quality. If your usage significantly exceeds typical patterns, we'll contact you to discuss appropriate arrangements before making any changes.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Currently, we offer a single plan that accommodates most business needs under our fair usage policy. As we introduce additional pricing tiers in the future, you'll be able to upgrade to higher tiers anytime (taking effect immediately) or adjust to a different tier at your renewal period. We'll provide advance notice before implementing any pricing structure changes that may affect your account.
Support & Customization
What support is included?
Subscription plans include email and ticketing support during business hours (Mon-Fri, 9 AM - 6 PM MYT). Priority support with faster response times is available as an add-on. One-time license customers with active maintenance receive the same support. We also provide documentation, API guides, and integration examples.
Can the middleware be customized?
Yes, we offer customization services for specific workflow requirements, custom data transformations, additional integrations, or UI modifications. Customization is quoted separately based on complexity. Minor configuration changes are often included in support.
What if I need help with integration?
We provide integration documentation and examples. If you need hands-on assistance, we offer professional services for integration setup, testing, and training. This is especially helpful for businesses without in-house technical resources.
